Digital Journal Entry
Hello world!
I’ve had a semi-eventful few days. I had a few days in Chiang Mai, and then took a sleeper train back down to Bangkok. Overall I think Chiang Mai is pretty cool. Everyone is super lovely and there’s lots of tourist activities to do. There’s not much to do in terms of nightlife, but it is a fairly small place. I met many lovely people. I also got sunburned for the first time. I went to a waterpark and didn’t apply much sun cream, so I got badly burned. It was weird because it didn’t feel bad, due to the water, but obviously it got bad afterwards. I got blisters, which means I got second degree burns.
Writing this in Bangkok though, I can confirm I am fine. It’s just peeling over now, and I took care of myself. I think it’s important to get burnt once on any long trip, because then you realise how bad it is. I promise to myself I won’t get this burned in Barcelona. It hurt like hell.
I also got sad for the first time on my trip, which feels weird to say out loud. I just went for some drinks and did some reading, and just felt a bit weird. I don’t know why, but it had to happen eventually. I’m surprised it took this long but it always ends up happening. The reading I mentioned included the book by Raphael Bob-Waksberg, who created Bojack Horseman and Long Story Short, and it’s really good. It’s just quite honest about love, which is both nice and not nice. It’s well written and funny.
What else?
I feel more inspired to get writing again, and I have a neat idea for a novel that I might start writing soon. Before that, I want to finish my short story titled “A Train Station” about a guy who falls in love at a mysterious train station in the middle of nowhere. It’s based on a weird dream I had, and there’s some fun ideas for a short story so why not?
I’m doing writing, and I’m still travelling. Life is good. Thanks for reading.
