Digital Journal Entry
Hello world!
It’s been a rough week. I had my bag stolen with my laptop inside, and I had some unexpected bills appear. It’s not going well. Luckily I did super well last month with making money so I got myself a new laptop and headphones, and then I paid the bills, but I’m back at square one in terms of saving for my big move to Japan. It’s just a bit frustrating that all that work didn’t feel like it was worth it, even though I know it was. Another good bit of news was that my contact in Japan who is helping me get my visa replied to my email after vanishing for a few days. He has usually been super punctual so it worried me after a few days that he just stopped trying to help, and moved on. That’s not the case though, thank god. The process is still very slowly moving along, so until I hear anything more I’m going to keep working and making money.
I’ve made a few very lovely friends at the pub over the road, so that’s even more good news. They are fantastic people. I realise how much time I spend trying to be happy with various hobbies or adventures, only to realise how it all just comes from friends. I’m happy when I’m surrounded by lovely people. Maybe that’s a big life lesson I learned from my 2026 worldwide adventures. An expensive life lesson, but a nice one. I’m a social person.
More good news than bad news today. I’m doing well at making the most out of bad situations. This journal thing might actually be a really good idea.
Originally I wanted to keep flexing my writing muscles so I don’t slow down and stop. Then I realised how the stuff I write is very personal, and that I feel very embarrassed sharing it, so this journal was a good idea to try and break through that. Now I’ve realised that on top of the previous reasons, it’s a good way to write down my thoughts and really consider them. It’s healthy! I think.
Anyway, thanks for reading. Peace out.
